Wrong Image in download section?

Hello,
I tried today to install the RetroPi Image 4.4 on a Rasperry 3 Version B+. I downloaded the retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz from the download page (checksum is ok). After booting I only get one "berry" on the screen and the errot "Illegal Instruction".
Can someone please verify?

@nitewalker if you have one raspberry then you don't have a Raspberry Pi 3 but a Raspberry Pi 1

You probably have a Raspberry Pi B+ rather than a Raspberry P 3B +, so you need to use the Pi 0/1 image rather than the P 2/3 image.
