@mitu when he asked me for login, i plugged my keyboard into usb and type pi then enter
then he asks me for the password .. at that time when the small bar flashes after the word password, I can not write anything and I have to press twice to enter and be able to write raspberry.
but I have to do it quickly otherwise it will re-ask me for the login

@shura-3275 When you're prompted for the password, just write the password, even if the terminal doesn't echo back the actual password - while you type your password nothing should appear on the screen, that's how it works.
So, at login write pi, then press Enter, when asked for password just write raspberry and then press Enter.

No, it should have logged you in automatically and started EmulationStation. Did you choose the 'Auto-login to Console' option in raspi-config ?

I have other requests to finish but I think I should go to another topic?
1- how to configure arcade buttons and joysticks?
2- when I enter the Master system console everything is blocked, I can not do anything and I am forced to turn off and on.

                      Use
                      login: pi
                      password: raspberry

Having this issue but when I put the password as raspberry it works but loads for a while and then defaults back to this screen. If I put another pw it says incorrect so I know raspberry is right but just won't get further than this page. Can't seem to use any command because it is stuck on the log in :( is this anything to do with me using an older pi? I think mine is a 1, not 100% sure as it was gifted second hand.

@Izzii0x Welcome to this forum. Some friendly words of advice:

                          • Please give us all the information about your system that's asked for in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
                          • In general, it is advisable to open a new thread about your problem rather than to "necro" (forum slang) a thread that began 2½ years ago, as your problem could be caused by completely different things than those discussed here earlier.
