      hi all

just did a fresh install. i can setup the controller and it works fine with the usb controller. i did research on setting up the ps3 dual shock controller for blue tooth. seems that what is online is different from the new menu. online the path to setting it up is : retopie set up > setup configuration > install/pair ps3 controller. then drivers will install and so fourth.

well the install ps3 controller isnt there. i have tried going to the blue tooth set up. with the controller plugged in via the usb i select the register bluetooth device and press the ps3 button. nothing happens. it never registers the controller even if i unplug the controller and press the ps3 button.

Is this a bug in 3.8.1? should i reload a previous version of retro pie?

@busa32927 it's there. Look a little harder. Under the driver menu

wow i found it. i wonder who would look under packets to configure a controller. maybe next version of retro pi they look at the naming convention and order of items.

@busa32927 aah. You're blaming the software. I see.

nah not blaming the software. it worked once i found it. but i will say that "packets" means nothing to me when i am looking for drivers. maybe a better category name. packets sounds like something i shouldnt go to because i will mess something up. lol.

maybe in the frontend they could make a menu for controller drivers.

It doesn't say packets. It says "Packages" - which is a pretty common term.
