I have been messing around the with sharpe X68000 emulator, which I know is in the experimental stage.
I finally got it working, but had some trouble with the Bios location. This wiki (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Sharp-X68000) states the Bios should be named as outlined in the wiki and be place in the following location: - /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/keropi
I did this and try to run a few games, I got a black screen the retropie returned to the game select screen. I check the log /dev/shm/runcommand.log and it was saying it could not find the Bios, the files were present so I thought that maybe the Bios was bad. I then ran the emulator using verbose logging, right at the very end of the log it stated that the emulator coud not find the Bios, but was showing the following path: - /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/x68000/keropi.
I put the Bios files in that location and then emulator ran fine.
Any idea why it is looking in a different location to that stated in the wiki? and is there any way to change it so it does look in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/keropi?
In some ways this isn't a big issue as I have the emulator running, but I posted it as it may help others who have similar problems.

@tuki_cat Thanks for info, we'll correct the Wiki page.

@tuki_cat Are you sure you're using the
lr-px68k
(Libretro) core and not thepx68k
standalone emulator ? The Libretro core seems to loads the BIOS files from the location described in the Wiki (i.e the RetroArch System/BIOS folder setting). -
@mitu I'm definately using lr-px68k as I can use the hotkey to quit and I can access the Retroarch menu.
Strange because I have just retested wiht the Bios in /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/keropi and it quits back to Emulation Station after a black screen. I then put the Bios back in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/x68000/keropi and it works fine.
I only recently installed lr-px68k from source (there was no binary option), when I enter the Retroarch menu it tells me I am on version: 1.6.9 - PX68K 0.15+ 107f819.
Are you on the same version?
-
@tuki_cat I have the latest RA version (1.7.3), but what's more important is the System/BIOS location setting in RetroArch. Since it's installed from source, the
lr-px68k
should be the same version. -
@mitu Here is the runcommand.log from dev/shm
the last seven lines include the error about not finding the Bios and the path it is using.
Is it possible for me to change the System/BIOS location setting in RetroArch, if so how would I do it?
-
@tuki_cat use the RetroArch RGUI and choose the options in the configuration. Or, modify the global config file in ’/opt/Retropie/configs/all’. Make sure you don't have config_save_on_exit options configured.
