Cant scrape separate Famicom games
-
Hi all,
I cant seem to get my recently added famicom system to scrape, there most be something i missed but cant figure it out.
My setup/What i did:
After installing the Selph Scraper i have scraped the "default" systems like nes, megadrive, atari 2600, pc engine, snes and they all have artwork+video snaps.
I also installed the theme Retrorama and all is working good.
Now im trying to ad new systems for separating nes-famicom, snes-super famcom, pc engine-tg16 etc.
And im starting with nes-famicom.i have made a copy of the es_system.cfg and and add famicom to it.
Here is the config edit: https://pastebin.com/yNJb5s1mI put the edited es_sytem.cfg in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation.
I made ROM folder famicom and put some ROMS in it.The famicom system is showing up in my Retrorama theme.
I can see the rom list and play the games. But it will not scrap artwork+video snaps.
Additional info:
Because the ROMS file names have extra info like "eng translation by ... i tried renaming a couple of ROMS so their file name is just name of game.
I tried to scrape after that but that didnt work. The famicom ROM folder has an images folder that was made, with only 1 image + 1 mp4.
Its the the only game that has artwork+video snap.I tried adding some images + video snaps to the images folder and made sure the file name was the same as the ROM like Akira (Japan).nes, Akira (Japan)-video.mp4, Akira (Japan)-image.jpg
And i try to scrape using these settings:
-Arcade Source (ArcadeItalia)
-Console Source (ScreenScraper)
-ROM Names (theGamesDB) (i tried the other ones too, No intro, Filesname)
-Gamelist (Overwrite)
-Use rom folder for gamelist and images (Enabled)
-Download Videos (Enabled)I recently started with all of this, and did the necessary update.
I have a feeling im overlooking something, and hope someone can feel me in!
Edit: i got super famicom working to scrape, i edit all files names (with extra info like hack, eng trans) to match with gamesdb info. So i gonna start over with famicom. Gonna delete al roms and delete famicom entry in es_system.cfg. I think i made 2 mistakes, i edit config when still being in emulationstation and rom files names are not matching gamesdb. So gonna see if thats the problem.

So i got super famicom and tg16 working as separate system (super famicom had a couple of roms that didnt scrape out of the 100)
But i still cant the famicom to scrape??
Did the same like super famicom, made sure the file names matches the names on thegamesdb.
Is there something about eng translated famicom roms that makes it impossible to scrape?
Or did i somehow mess something up in the retropie software that makes me unable to scrape famicom roms?
I hope someone can give me a few pointers.

@mingooski Not sure of easier way, but one way would be to rename the nes rom folder. Make a backup of the nes’ gamelist.xml file. Rename famicom rom folder to nes. Restart emulationstation. Scrape. Then rename famicom roms folder back to famicom. Rename the nes roms folder back to nes. Create a famicom folder for the famicoms gamelist.xml file and put its gamelist.xml in it. Put the nes’ gamelist.xml back on. Reboot emulationstation.

But before i try your suggestion, isnt their a way to manually scrape it? because i also have a pack of famicom video snaps and box art.
