Xml to only show games in xml

I have created themes for cps1,2,3,cave,pgm,etc using mame roms, i then copy the roms i want and put them in their respectable folders. Works fantastic. My gripe is now i have the same rom living in mame as in cps1, or cps2...etc. is there a way to use the xml to only show the games in the xml, like hyperspin. So all the mame roms can live in the mame folder, and the xml in the cps folder will only put the cps roms in the menu for cps? Or something like this.
