Where are the additional data from Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker of PPSSPP located?
-
Hi.
I launched the rom Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, both via PPSSPP and lr-PPSSPP. Each time the game installed additional 800M to the SD.
Unfortunaltely the rom did not run. so I erased i, butt there are still 1.6G (800M from each emulator) of data left on the SD.
How can I purge ?
Thank you -
@maxpower how did you “erase” it?
-
I SSHed in and did a rm-comand.
-
I will specify abit more.
I erased only the rom-file in /home/pi/Retropie/roms/psp.
But when you go launch the game, it wants you to install additional data (800M).
This must be emulator specific, as it happend twice with each emulator I tried.
So where is the "virtual" storage location of the emulators or how can I find this myselfe?Did have a look around already, but only found config files and savegames of a few kb size. (Don't recall the locations..)

I have a problem in finding some data concerning PSP-emulators.
It happend that I launched Metal Gear Peace Walker with PPSSPP and the game won't launch before installing additional 800MB to the memory stick, SD respectively. Unfortunately the rom did not work, so I tried lr-PPSSPP. Again 800MB were written to SD. Again without success in playing the rom.I deleted the rom then, but the additional 1.6G of data are still somwhere on the SD.
I browsed the folders, but did not find the location of the files.
I deletet the emulators via installation script (manage packages) und reinstalled them, but still the 1.6G are on the SD. So where is the storage location for the virtual memory sticks for that emulators?Need help. Don't want to wast that space, when it could be used for so much more games.

@maxpower Didn't you open the same topic a week ago - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/19329/where-are-the-additional-data-from-metal-gear-solid-peace-walker-of-ppsspp-located ? There's no need to add a new topic, just add your comments to the previous one.
EDIT: I merged the 2 topics.

Have you check the following folders for the files
- BIOS folder -
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/PPSSPP
- Config folder -
/opt/retropie/emulators/psp
- BIOS folder -
-
@mitu Sorry for the second topic. Thought it might be to much related to Metal Gear, because no one replied.
So thank you for the reply.
No luck in those folders though.
Checked /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/PPSSPP, only 9M
/opt/retropie/emulators/PPSSPP/ is only 32M
The hole emulators foder /opt/retropie/emulators/ is 64MAny more ideas?

Any more ideas?
You can look for large files in the
pi
's home folder with thefind
command - executed from the command linecd $HOME find -type f -size +500M
-
@mitu tried the "find" command before. Funny it shows nothing when you try it via SSH.
Did that in the native terminal now (F4) starting in root /.cd /
sudo find -type f -size +500M-> only found some PSX and PSP roms
did a +100M instead and bingo, found something./opt/retropie/configs/psp/PSP/SAVEDATA/ULES01372DAT is filled with 859M
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psp/PSP/SAVEDATA/ULES01372DAT has another 859MAlthough in different locations it should be related to the same game, as the folder /ULES01372DAT is named the same.
There more files and folders in each location with the name"ULES01372DAT".
I guess its save to delete all of this without loosing any save games right? -
That did it. Thank you. Problem solved.
Removed everything named "ULES01372". Still got my save games.
(Did not work via SSH, becaus I was in a wrong folder. My fault.)
