3.8.1 Resolution issue?
-
Hello all,
this is my first post, I've been using RetroPie for about six months now, mostly release 3.3 without any issue. I wanted to try ResidualVM so I went for the 3.8.1 release upgrade.
I have the following issue and I don't really know where to look now: the graphics are a lot more pixelly (bigger pixels) to the point where there has to be something wrong. It looks like a small screen zoomed like crazy, so the mixels are huge. I tried to change the resolution in the retroarch config menu but no difference... maybe that was not the correct menu.
I compared to what I have in 3.3 and this is what I found that might help explain :
-when launching a rom you have a yellow message appearing on the bottom of the screen with the "name of your controller" USB connected configured in port #0
This message is normal size in 3.3 but in 3.8.1 the message is tiny, like shrunk. I think that if I can get this message bigger (well just normal), the rest of the graphics will be normal as well.If anyone understands please help!! :)
Thanks

You may have just had video smoothing on before, and a lower render res, so things just looked less blocky. You can use the configuration editor to switch smoothing back on it you want it.
if you lower the video res or render resolution that will increase the text size also.

Thank you for your quick and spot on answer, smoothing out option did it!
The size of the launch message had no link to my issue
