Retropie sudoers issue
-
Lol I can't even figure out how to get into safe mode. I'm very new at this so my apologies
-
You mentioned another linux os. I've got a noobs sd card. Would it be easier to just install the raspbian and correct the file that way?
-
I think it's safer to re-install. You can save your ROMs and configurations - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Updating-RetroPie/#making-a-backup-option-2 - if you're still able to access RetroPie over file shares.
-
Ok i took your advice and started over
But I'm back where I had the issue with my own splash screens
How can I safely and correctly move my own splash screens into the main retropie splash screen folder without causing the issue i had before
Many thanks

@trippy86 What tool are you using to copy the splashcreens over with?
-
@trippy86 You should be able to sftp the files to /home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens without needing any special permissions.
-
I'm using winSCP to transfer them
I have no issues copying to home/pi/RetroPie/splashscreens
But they never load and goes straight to the emulation station loading screen. I've messed with all settings, trying to select one and randomize list result the same way. But if i use a default retropie splash screen it works work fine
-
I've already got them to work previously by copying them to the main file system and it worked perfectly, but I messed something up (see OP)
Just want to avoid it this time lol
Thx
-
@trippy86 You have to pick them from the Splashscreen menu. You don't need to alter any file permissions.

Solved my issue. Set root password to raspberry and logged in ssh using login as root
Thx for the help guys

Trust me I tried all of that, wouldn't work at all. Worked fine for me before retropie was updated but not since. I've put them in the splashscreens folder in supplementary and works perfectly now
