clrmamepro not working correctly
-
I've been trying to get a few roms I have to work properly in mame-libretro. I've been pointed to clrmamepro and a 0.78 dat file to solve this problem. I've read the documentation and watched a video, and followed these instructions. However, going through this process results in a folder of 105 files, when my initial folder only has 6 roms. The 6 roms that I do want from this 105 file folder do not work though.
I don't understand why more roms are being created than I originally have. But more importantly, this program is supposed to result in rom files that work, but they do not.
I can't seem to get any clear answers or instructions on how to get a few working rom files here. Could anyone please be of help?
Many thanks in advance.

I have followed the instructions exactly. I ran the process, following the video exactly, but with the appropriate .dat file that I was pointed to, and copied the entire 2 GB of roms to the pie, just to be sure I did everything exactly, and sure enough, the games I want to use, still do not work.
I do not appreciate being voted negatively with my reputation when all I"m trying to do is get some clear answers, and get some advice on things, and pointing out that the instructions I've been pointed to do not work. I'm trying to get some helpful clarification for me and for everyone that is following the guides on here and getting results that do not work with them.

The best advice is to use the utility to roll back, not forward, and to use a complete set (not just 6 files) plus the rollback set for the version you are after. Rolling forward might not work at all for some games if you don't have source roms that contain the needed parts. I have had mixed results with the Mac version of clrmamepro so I usually add my roms from a complete set of the needed version rather than trying to build them.

Besides, since you need to go out and download a more recent full set and rollbacks to build the set you want, you might as well just look for the full set you want and download that.
