Quick question - Apologies if this sounds like a silly question, but I couldn't find the answer. I don't come from a technical background and just diving into all this.

I currently have RetroPie set up on my RPi 2. I'm planning on purchasing a RPi 3 in the near future. In order to make the switch, do I need to do anything aside from physically transferring the micro SD card? Would a clean install help?

https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first (eg what version are you running etc) - have you Raspbian system packages?

you can just plug that micro sd card into a rpi3 and it will work.

Did you see a noticeable improvement in the upgrade? I am getting ready to build my own system and have a Pi 2 sitting around. Was wondering if I should just go ahead and buy a 3.
