ROM with ccd cue img sub files appears twice in Retropie.

I have a game (Final Fantasy VIII) with four files for each disk: .ccd, .cue, .img, and .sub. I ripped it myself some years ago. Retropie detects the .cue and .img and shows them on the list, so each disk is shown twice. Is any of these files redundant? Could I rename the .img to .bin without any issues?
By the way, I opened the .cue file and noticed that it points to the .ccd file, not the .img.

I realize this is an old question, but it's one of the first results on Google for this problem. I found that if you have ccd, cue, img, and sub files, you just need to not copy over (or delete) the cue file. Hope this helps someone else!

@44ml Without the .cue file the emulator wouldn't know what other tracks belong to the game and won't play 'em.
@xwons: Various solution, depending on context and user style of setting things up, could be found within this forum, but to be able to give a solid answer for your use case, detailed information as requested here is needed.
