I recently bought a Happ trackball to add to my RetroPie Barcade. I was wondering what are some games besides

      *Silver Strike Bowling

      • Marble Madness
      • Golden Tee

that others love to play that use a trackball.

I currently have Raspberry Pi 3 B running Retropie version 4.4.

@jhndeere86 I like ProgettoEmma to answer queries like this.

Once I changed the language to English, I used the advanced search in Search Tools to select my filters. For your query, I selected Only parents in Game Type, then Trackball in Controls and .078 in Up to Version.

Pressing Start Search will generate a list of trackball games available for lr-mame2003. (It is possible to create a printer friendly version that can used to copy and paste into Excel but it wasn't working when I tried).

There are the obvious ones: Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command, Crystal Castles
Less obvious - Track and Field (came in two flavors, one with two run buttons and the other with a track ball)

Quantum is a somewhat special game, because its cabinet had only a trackball but no buttons besides the 1P and 2P start buttons. In the gqme, you'll have to circle subatomic particles to make them disappear, which sounds easier as it is (see the video below). At least the original arcade game had a kind of vector Cel Shading – I don't know if the MAME version does.

Here's a demonstration of the game on a restored original cabinet. I didn't play it myself, but it looks quite taxing. ;)

(If the time code doesn't work, jump to 22:12.)

I should say this list includes several spinner/dial games that work fine using a trackball eg Tempest Tubes.
