      @dewen does fceumm even run FDS games? I thought only nestopia did

        @dewen mediamogul, You are great, it works !

        Just edit
        /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
        locate the FDS section,
        change the command line from "fds" to "nes"

        <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS nes %ROM%
        </command>

        then restart system, after that, you can choose fceumm or nestopia from runcommand when you launcg fds game. You can check from RetroArch menu to see which emulator core is running. I feel fceumm runs a little smooth than nestopia.

              I just gave it a shot and can confirm that Famicom disk games do indeed work with lr-fceumm.

                  @proaudiosoft hello again Mr audio soft. Welcome to the new forums. Btw I added it to the setup script so you can just update your setup script and reinstall the lr-fcuemm binary and it will generate the FDS config so you don't have to do it manually.

                      Excuse me but when I try to play famicom disk system games in general it boots me back to the main menu. Im no tech wiz so I have no idea what to do. Do I have to do something with the BIOs to run .fds games?

                        You need the file disksys.rom and it needs to be in the bios folder. Fceumm cuts off video on the left and right side of the screen. Nestopia does not. I personally would use nestopia. Same with nes games. (Unless you are using retroachievements for nes games which only works in fceumm. Fds games dont support retroachievements so i would use nestopia)
