      I have an USB controller, which works fine in the emulationstation, but once I launch a game, it stops working. At least on these games: SuperCrateBox, MalditaCastilla, TheyNeedToBeFed (all three gamemaker games)

        It looks as though these games only support keyboard controls, as noted here. If you want to use a controller, you may have to look into external key-mapping solutions.

            I put together a guide here for xboxdrv. It's an involved process, but very flexible.

            RetroPie v4.5 • RPi3 Model B • 5.1V 2.5A PSU • 16GB SanDisk microSD • 512GB External Drive
