Is anyone familiar if any of the N64 to USB adapters work (or don't work so i can skip trying them) for retropie?

I know USB controllers exist, I don't want to use them.

Most of them work just fine. I personally recommend the Raphnet adapter as it supports rumble force feedback without any additional drivers.

          awesome! Thank you!!

So most roms have the coding in them for when to vibrate then? Or do you have to find 'special' ones ?

The game, emulator and controller/adapter all have to support rumble for it function. Right now, I believe lr-Mupen64plus (N64) is the only emulator in RetroPie that supports rumble, but as time moves on, it will likely be seen more and more as the relevant emulators continue maturing.

@steven I have a Wise USB adaptor which handles Saturn, Dreamcast and N64 - it works perfectly with my original N64 controllers. I've not yet been able to activate rumble on the N64 controller (I don't use the libretro mupn64plus emulator as it's too slow).

That said I can't enable rumble on the Playstation Dualshock either (using any emulator).

There's a list of the hardware I'm using, with links to Amazon, RS Components etc, for most of it here
