The default settings for the slideshow works as expected. I was able to get a custom folder working with images from the scraped roms. When I add photos from my phone is when I get the blank white screen. I cropped an image from my phone and it was able to display my cropped image. Images from the scraped roms are about 20 kb but the photos from my phone are about 5 mb so I guess there is a size limitation when using photo with slideshow.

Is there any setting I can change to allow it to display my photos?

@boesiii what resolution are your photos ? Try resizing them to 1080p rather than cropping them.

All the photos taken with my phone are 5312 x 2988. I will resize and check tonight.

After I resized my photos all is working.

Do you think there would be away to not have to resize all my photos? Why is retropie not able to shrink or fit the image to the TV screen?

@boesiii I don't know how the screensaver part works yet - but I think the image is to large to fit into the RPI's available Video RAM as is.

Did you set the slideshow option to stretch the image ? This might resize it to the actual screen size, instead of trying to load it as is.

Sorry for the late response. Yes I did try the option to stretch the image but that did not fix the problem.
