How to run .exe's

I want to create a custom folder and run games from it by using the exe for the game. Would this be possible using a new system in emulation station, and if so how would I add the .exe's to the system once I had created it (want to run low intensity games from itch.io, downloaded so it can run without wifi)

note that .exe games are for windows and x86. retropie can run on an x86 PC, but not windows - linux

RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):Looking to see what version I should use
Built From: Pre made SD image on retro pie, but looking to see what systems to run

Anyway so my bad ok, never used a linux pc so didnt realise the file extensions were different, so how would I go about making it run .x86's as many of the games support linux

@cybermonkey01 Is not that simple, since the Raspberry Pi does not have the same CPU as a regular PC so even if the game would be compatible with Linux, this usually means it's compatible with Linux on a PC.
Do you have an example for a game that runs on Linux, which you'd like to run on RetroPie ?

Looking at their download package, the game runs only on PC - they have 2 programs for x86 (32 bit) and x86_64 (64 bit) CPUs and it's developed in C# (uses Mono on Linux). So it's not going to work on a Raspberry PI (as I said before).
If your main objective is to play the games from itch.io, then a Raspberry PI is not the right platform - you'll need a PC.

Trying to make a handheld console though, so would it be possible to build a pc that fits in that small of a form factor

@mitu All I really want is to be able to play games from a website (such as itch.io) where I download a game and play it on the raspberry pi, but I want to play games that were made recently, but I am aware that the capabilities of the pi mean I'm not going to be able to play GTA on it, but want the games to come from a website that has a large selection of them, what programmes should I be looking for that can run on the pi

@cybermonkey01 most of the free to download games that can run on the pi are already in our ‘ports’ package manager.
