Artwork from Scraper and SkyScraper do not display
-
I don't see the artwork displayed for each game that I have scraped already.
I downloaded a few themes and they all display fine. I have run both scrapers and they seem to work as they successfully run and I do see the game list.xml populated correctly, but nothing is displayed on the artwork. Ive tried running scraper and skyscraper as sudo from RetroPie setup script from command line as well as directly from skyscraper binary with no luck. I just removed the logs and booted up to have fresh logs. Any help would be extremely appreciated, thanks in advance.

<name>Crazy Taxi</name>
<desc>Crazy Taxi is an arcade-like racer where the player takes the role of a taxi driver who weaves his way through crowded streets, across sidewalks and even under water, in a wild and frantic race to deliver passengers on time. The courses are largely set inside cities crowded with general traffic and pedestrians (which can't be run over, they dive away). The main goal is to bring as many customers as possible to their destination in time. Available customers are marked through circles and the colour represents the distance and the fare they offer. Green means long rides with plenty of money, and red ones are very short.</desc>

@mobebk Please use pastebin.com for large text logs or files. Can you make sure the correct gamelist is used by Emulationstation ?. Where did you instructed the scraper(s) to save the gamelist ?
-
I will def use paste bin now. That one is dreamcast xml file located here (mounted as a shared Volume) :
/Volumes/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/dreamcast/gamelist.xml
I didn't instruct to save anywhere so it must be the default location? I dunno
-
@mobebk Emulationstation can read the
gamelist.xml
for a system from multiple locations, but only 1 gamelist will be loaded, whichever comes first.- the system ROMs folder.
~/.emulationstation/gamelists/<system>
/etc/emulationstation/gamelists/<system>
The file you opened (
/Volumes/..
, I assume you opened it on macOS) is the file from the 1st location. Check that you don't have anothergamelist.xml
file in the ROMs folder - if there is one, rename it and restart Emulationstation. -
@mitu said in Artwork from Scraper and SkyScraper do not display:
file from the 1st location. Check that you don't have another gamelist.xml file in the ROMs folder - if there is one
I renamed the gamelist.xml to agamelist.xml in one of the roms folder, rebooted and still doesn't display for that system. I verified that there wasn't another created in the rom folder too if that helps
-
@mobebk Then I have no idea why it doesn't work.
Check if the images are ok on the disk - the ones referenced by thegamelist.xml
and double-check again that you don't have duplicate gamelists. You can even remove - for a system - any gamelists and then re-scrape withSkyscraper
to see if the gamelist is generated back. -
Thanks, Ill try that out. I don't have any in /etc/emulationstation/gamelists/<system>. fwiw
-
I uninstalled sky scraper and all the gamelist.xml files and images, reinstalled skyscraper and ran to download to roms folder. I only see the gamelist.xml in the rams folder now, not in duplicate places, but it still does not display
-
I actually got it working! I don't know how, but I switched from basic to detailed to video and all of a sudden it started working. Thx again for the help
