5 Inch LCD Display not working on Tinker Board RetroPie

Does anyone know how to get the 5 inch HDMI TFT LCD display to work with Tinker Board with RetroPieOS installed?
I have tried LCD-show and that didnt work, and I'm driving myself crazy trying to fix it. It ultimately just shows up blue screen with "no signal". It will turn on when I have an HDMI to the tv plugged in, unplug that to plug in the HDMI that came with the screen, but once loading a new screen, it goes back to blue "no signal" screen. PLEASE HELP! I just want the display, I don't really care about the touch functions
