commander genius not installing

I cant get commander genius to build, i have look on the forum and found a few things. i tryed them with no luck.
did a clean download from the site and a fresh image.
updated everything and it still fails to install.

not sure whats going on, hope its a easy fix. my 4 year old seems to like Commander Keen. lol good start i think

Unfortunately the problem is upstream - they changed the build system and it misses some dependencies. I'll see if this can get fixed in the RetroPie's build system, but seems like a bug in the upstream project build instructions.

EDIT: I opened an issue upstream, we'll have to wait to get it fixed.

While submitting the bug report, I found the funniest bug fix on the Commander Genius project page:

Install latest git build of Commander Genius
Run Keen 4 with it
Start playing on "hard" hardness so flies become more common
Find a fly (usually on one of first levels)
Squish it with pogo while it sits
Save and load
Watch undead fly. It doesn't bite but it flies.

@ExarKunIv Good news ! The upstream developer graciously fixed the build error and you can install Commander Genius again. You'll have to update your RetroPie-Setup script first (just the script) and then try to install it to see if it succeeds this time.
