No Audio with Mupen64plus in non-pi install
-
@jas51384 Can you test with speakers/headphones or if it's a laptop the built in speakers?
-
It's a desktop PC. the only sound device enable is the Nvidia card with HDMI. I have the on-board sound card disabled in the bios. All Audio works with everything else except Mupen64plus.
-
I tried the steps listed here: [link text]https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Debian#no-audio-in-mupen64plus(link url) under "No Audio in Mupen64plus" the audio was cutting in and out every second or so but when I would reboot the PC I would have no audio devices until I ran and exited the Mupen64plus emulator.

So I tried the steps listed here link text but the audio cut in and out every second or so and when I would reboot the PC I had no audio or devices listed until I ran and exited Mupen64plus.

So I take it I have a unique situation that has no resolve? It use to work great. I had to do a fresh install of the OS and RetroPie and since then Mupen64plus has no audio. I'm guessing Mupen was updated some time and now doesn't work. There is a message at the bottom of the screen when starting a rom in Mupen64plus It's so fast I can't read it all. I know it says something about an error but the log doesn't show anything.
-
@jas51384 can you take a video and then playback frame by frame to see the error message?
-
@quicksilver That was a great idea. The message says:
/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 961: read: read error: 0: resource temporarily unavailable -
@quicksilver Should I try a different Linux Distro?
-
@jas51384 someone with more experience running retropie on a PC will have to chime in on that. I think the link you posted earlier probably has your fix but maybe your settings aren't the same as the ones in that example.
Did you follow that guide step by step? Or did you copy past the examples on that page?
-
@quicksilver I tried it both ways with the same results.

The specific emulator I'm having trouble with is mupen64plus-glide64
the lr-mupen64plus works fine but looks awful and won't load high res textures. The mupen64plus-glide64 emulator worked great until I had to reinstall everything for other reasons. No system hardware has changed since I've started this.
