@djgra79 okay! I thought that this was just me! I am experiencing the same thing.

@battlecat likely a bug with your controller. Press a button on the dpad and it will stop scrolling

Yes that does work but on my MAME cab it is annoying.

@herb_fargus Ok thanks. I'll have to disconnect each one to see which is the culprit. I have arcade buttons via xin-mo, an old generic USB controller and wireless keyboard/mouse. I'd prefer to stop it from happening altogether if possible though.

Hy, I'm using the raph.net boards for wiring up my original controllers to the pi and the scrolling happens to me all the time.

Does anyone have found a workaround or fix yet?

This is driving me crazy, too. Especially how it always goes left a console. Hopefully, we can get a fix for this someday.

It's a dodgy controller dude, happens to me when I used my cheapo SNES Chinese pads. Just hit a button and it'll stop.

@dougthealmighty @Floeggu87 @battlecat @battlecat @herb_fargus it is a linux issue. Several controllers are affected by it. Raph from raphnet-tech.com created a linux patch for it:

@edmaul69 Wow thanks, I was experiencing the issue using a genuine white Xbox wired controller stolen from my younger brothers xBox! ;) I had a USB extension that allowed it to be connected to my PC and Rpi3.

It doesn't seem to happen as much anymore. I have not done the fix.

                      Thanks,

@edmaul69 Thanks so much. I've been searching for a solution for a long time. I'm about to patch my kernel. Keeping you updated if it works :)

@Floeggu87 Did you ever patch your kernel? I'm curious to see if it worked.

@dsfrancis I patched the kernel as described but nothing happened. Still having the issue. I'll have a look at the newest RetroPie Release during my next holydays.
                            happy new year

@Floeggu87 It didn't work for me until I ran: $sudo make install from the ~/linux/ folder after following everything else that was listed to do. I'm new to compiling kernels, so I'm not really sure what I'm doing here.

@edmaul69 My guide was really just taking the steps from the Raphnet site. Raphnet's site tells you to go to the Raspberry Pi site for some of the steps, so I just put them all in one place.
