MAME ROW stands for MAME Random Of the Week. We randomly select an arcade game from the 0.78 MAME Reference Set to play on the week. The idea is to play games we've never played before, interact with other forum members, post hi-scores, share game strategies, fun facts, and (the most important) HAVE FUN!
Notes:
-
We usually post hi-scores screenshots after playing with only one credit. If you used more than one credit, please mention it on your post.
-
There's no need to use RetroPie to join the MAME ROW! You can play it on any platform you want.
-
Feel free to post your hi-score (or any content about the game) anytime you want on the previous rounds topics (link below).
Every Monday we create a topic at the "General Discussion and Gaming > MAME Random Of the Week" forum section with the 3 random games to be voted. And on Wednesday we check the result.
These "rules" are constantly being improved!

I will wait for voting and definitely play all 3 games. Two space shooters and one old arcade style game ;) Interesting selection ;)

X Multiply is a straight-up R-Type game in all but name.
Splat! is, IMO, the best game on the list this week, but it is a two-joystick game (in the same vein as Black Widow, Krull, Robotron 2084, etc). If you have a setup that works for these games, great!
The third I've never heard of, and looks like a blast, but it may be too similar to last week's game.Don't know how I'm voting , but at this point I'm leaning towards the R-Type ripoff. I just don't have a good two-joy system. Yes, I use the right-hand diamond-pattern buttons as my right joystick, but I can't shoot diagonally well at all. I guess I need to use a modern controller with two analog joysticks, but that's just not how my system is configured (I'm strictly a digital gamepad user).

@Lyle_JP Splat! is playable. With HATs you move player and with ABXY you control the direction of cakes, keys and cookies throws ;)
-
This week's winner is X Multiply

Yeah, but you get those failing arms! XD

@IanDaemon @obsidianspider Not my gameplay at all ... I'm busy in weekend so no hunt for a score

@Lyle_JP Have you ever played Super Burger Time? I always thought the original was hard due to the limited pepper you have for an unlimited time. The sequel gives you the opposite (unlimited pepper for a limited time). The sequel also gives you other weapons and generally easier movement. You can also "stomp" on the food instead of walking over it. It's slightly faster although just as unsanitary.
