Dreamcast emulator question

Hello everyone, quick question I've got the Dreamcast bios etc and the controller is all set up but each time I start a dc rom I get the set time/date screen and the controller works to set the digits but no button seems to register for select so I can't leave this screen. Anyone have something similar?
