    Mame games load on retro pie but I can't get them to start/controls won't respond

      So I finally got retro pie and love it to death. All the main emulators I play work great but I can't get the MAME stuff to work. It does load and I can see the intro/ high score screens / etc. but it won't respond to my controllers for some reason. Any suggestions on what's going on? I had my friend help build this thing cause I suck with computers so I'm hoping to fix it within the device its self.

        @Josh-I It will depend on the version of MAME that you are using. RetroPie has 6 versions. Version choice matters for many reasons. lr-mame versions will work perfectly with your existing controller for you "main" emulators whatever your choice is there but the other versions will require you to hit TAB and manually configure the controls. Read these articles for more info on why MAME versions matter:
