Runcommand On all systems not opening launch menu.
-
Hi all,
I’ve been recently tinkering with the retropie is and raspberry Pi.
I have gotten at least 60 games and when I launch them, sometimes I need to go into their runcommand config file.(Press a to configure options)
Whenever I try pressing a it doesn’t work and takes me straight to the game, like a shortcut.
I have gone through other articles about this but none have workedraspberry Pi 2

@Bearq07 you can actually press any button to bring up that menu. Press a button, means press any button (although I thought "a" button at first too). When the runcommand prompt pops up the best thing to do is repeatedly tap a button until it accepts your input. If you press just once you may miss your window of opportunity.

@Bearq07
I know someone here updated the script to make it more responsive (at least with spash-screens)
thanks whomever that was.You are on retropie version 4.4.11 but have you updated EmulationStation, and more importantly the runcommand script?
Manage Packages >> Update Core Packages
If it is non-updated, then you really have to wait to the last second to press the button. As soon as the pop-up dialog 'disappears', by reiterating the 'a' button consecutively.

Thankyou all,
This hasnt worked though. I have updated ALL packages and emulationstation in itself has no issues. I just can’t open that menu.
To let you know I do have menu art on, but when I disable it, it still doesn’t work. -
In the run command configuration. Launch Menu Joystick Control Enabled yes?
-
Yes it is
-
I’ve Just noticed that when I disable menu art it will work but when I have it enabled it dosent.
Are you able to tell me why?
-
@Bearq07 Did you try to press the A button just as the art disappears ?
-
Yes,
but that dosent work,
I think this is more of a technical error -
@Bearq07 If you have the launch images enabled, try waiting after the launch image is shown and press the button.
-
Ok, will try
-
It worked, Thankyou
