      Hi all,

Haven't upgraded Retropie in a long while and realize that to use the new version I need to do a fresh install. I know how to back-up my roms but is there anything I need to do to back-up my scraper info, xin-mo 2-player control settings (was a HUGE pain to set up correctly) and wifi settings (using a Pi2 with a USB wifi dongle).

Let me know. Pumped to upgrade but it's been a while since I've started from scratch and would love to preserve most of my settings if at all possible.

      Best,
      Cuj

@cujoac It's a good question. You should backup all of that stuff. I would want copies of every single configuration file and any additional directories I might have added in support of controllers, even if these files arejust for reference. I usually do a fair amount of tweaks to the boot/config.txt as well as /boot/cmdline.txt that might be hard to remember. Grab copies of these too.

Also, depending on your locale, you might make notes of localization settings, keyboard choices, etc.

I usually keep a log of changes, but some tweaks are fast and I forget about them.

So is there some file specifically that I should be looking for? I have a general back-up but I'm trying to figure out how to isolate a few elements so that when I do a fresh install I don't have to go through the trouble of re-coding my control settings and re-scrape my games. Let me know, I'm not sure where to even look!

Your main retroarch.cfg which can be found in:

            /opt/retropie/configs/all/

Or if you have a windows computer just enter the following path into windows explorer and you should be into the config folder:

            \RETROPIE\configs\all

I also would copy the config files of my controllers. They are located in the /retroarch-joypads/ folder which is located in the path I mentioned above. Saved me a ton of headache lol.
