      Hi,

I just saw on the Libretro Gitub repository the following commit for lr-reicast:

gl: performance optimizations for slow devices …

      flyinghead committed 7 days ago
set uniforms once per frame on all shaders
use a map instead of flat table
refactor gl4 renderer to have similar implementations

Is this something where if we update from source lr-reicast it will now be even further optimized for Retropie on a Pi 3b+?

This may be a totally stupid question, as a non-programmer I have basically no idea what I am looking at on GitHub.

I also saw a commit that looked like it might affect maybe implementing light gun devices more...is that the case?

I'd say yes the source is acquired from the main libretro.git repository and only compiled against rpi flags.

I wouldn't know if these updates are used on rpi, it uses opengl but I know it is not gl4.

There are input controls for lightguns in retroarch. I don't know how much is really needed just to get PSX to take light into its core.
