    Unable to install Kodi from Binary

      Hi all,

      I recently did a fresh install of Retropie 4.4 after I ran into some problems and couldn't boot. However the one thing I can't install again is kodi. I've followed the instructions from this topic:

      But to no avail. Details and log below. If anyone is able to help I would be so grateful!

      RetroPie v4.2.18
      Pi Model 3 B
      Power Supply used: Official raspberry pi power supply
      RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
      Built From: Retropie image v4.4
      USB Devices connected: Wireless keyboard; Retro Bit Sega controller, USB hard drive
      Controller used: Retro Bit Sega controller
      Error messages received: Unable to install kodi from binary
      Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): below

        @hawker_03 Something is not right, how can you have installed RetroPie 4.4 and it is based on Jessie ? Did you really formated your sd card and made a clean RetroPie 4.4 install?

          @Rascas must be an upgrade. Also there is a dialog in retropie that says Jessie is unsupported that should have popped up for them.

            In retrospect I should not have said I did a fresh install. I updated setup script and did a basic install as I couldn't boot retropie and didn't want to lose my settings. Everything else is working perfectly except Kodi.

            Would I need to update to Stretch and do a fresh install in order to get Kodi working?

              @hawker_03 Even if it works for you, Jessie is not supported anymore, there is no more updates. You can try update it to Stretch, but the recommend is to dowload the latest RetroPie version and flash it.

                Thanks @Rascas , thought that might be the case :(

                I don't suppose there is any way to install an older version of Kodi for Jessie manually? I was previously on version 17.3. If not then I guess it'll be the long process of a fresh install!
