Change console/collection order in ES
-
I've created a
.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg
file and re-arranged all consoles in there.
But now I've enabled the favorites collection in ES.
The favorites are being put on the end of all consoles. Is there a way to put it on the first entry?
I would like to boot in to ES and Favorites must be the first on screen. -
@Panja You might be able to do that by selecting your starting console in the ES options menu.
EDIT: Confirmed. Hit Start on your ES menu to bring up standard options. Choose UI Settings. Scroll down to Start On System. Select Favorites from the list. Restart ES and you will see it work. (If you cannot see Favorites as a choosable item, you need to enable it in the Collections settings. Right under UI Settings is the option for Game Collection Settings. Select that menu, choose the first option which is Automatic Collections and then make sure the check box for Favorites is there.)

@Thorr69
Lifesaver! Many thanks mate. Appreciated. -
I just tried it and it works but not as I intended. Probably wasn't completely clear with my question.
What I want it ES to begin with Favorites when it first loads but not to open the Favorites. So when ES logs in the first system you'll see is the Favorites instead of NES (NES is my first system).
-
i also changed the order of the systems in my setup.
My Intention was to have the Consoles in the right order, i.e. NES->SNES->GBA.To reach this goal i manualy rearranged the system-entrys in the es_systems.cfg by copy & pasting the system-specific datas (all from <system> to </system> in the order i wanted them to show up in ES.

Yes, that's what I did as well.
That's working fine.
But I have added the Favorites collection to my setup.
If I boot up my machine I want that to be the first "console/system" in front of me.
Now I get the console which I put first in es_systems.cfg which is NES. -
Well, then why not replace the place of Favorites with the one of NES?
Or has the order to stay as it is right now?
I don´t know if it is possible to force ES to "jump to the system i want on bootup".
Does not sound impossible, but i dont have experience with that :/ -
Well the problem is that Favorites is not a realy console/system, its a collection.
Just like Last Played and All Games.
So it's not mentioned in the es_systems.cfg file and there for I cannot choose its position... -
