@thelostsoul Well I hope it will work with this "modifications" and more people will join the MAME RoW again. Final call then ...

We can play off previous winners against each other until there is an all-time winner.

System Config: Retropie 4.4 with full desktop, RPi 3B, 256gb SD, 5v 2.1A 5,200 mAH USB battery. EasyMSX controller mounted with Pimoroni Hyperpixel 4 (non touch). Also running 4.6 on a 4gb Pi 4 serving as my primary desktop computer now.

I vote against that idea. Too much personal preference. "Fighter people" are going to vote for a fighter, "Shooter people" for a shooter. At least with the weekly selections we're limited and forced outside of our comfort zone.

@IanDaemon I just want mention, even if I am a shooter and fighter person, I don't vote for fighters. I try to vote what would be "good" for the community and what is good to play with highscores in mind. I agree with your words and thats one of the reason why I played games and found them to be good, while I was against it initially.

A lot of good ideas on here. I think the 5 games and the carry-over from previous weeks will work. Bigger chance of getting games that people want to play, and more time to play them.

              Looking forward to this !

Edit: Will it now be MAME RO2W then? :D

                The results are in.

One of five games, every two weeks. How are we determining which games are going to be in the five?

@obsidianspider Democracy is a wonderful tool. Interesting to see that the majority want to have 2 weeks cycles. For the selection of games, my recommendation is 3 new random games like before, plus 2 of the previous games with the highest votes. If there wasn't a clear second place, you can decide.

Or maybe if there is 0 votes in previous round, 5 all new random games the next round?

@AndersHP Would there ever be zero votes if the organizer votes after setting everything up? I guess the organizer can answer if they've ever had zero votes in the history of the MAME ROW.

I think in case of 0 votes or a tie, the organizer have the right to decide. Because he is the one doing all the work and is in charge of.

My point was merely, if games doesn't get any attention one week, why carry them over to the next? But as said @obsidianspider decides what to do :) Looking forward to the new concept of Mame ROW :)

The hard part about all of this is that there really isn't a consensus from the group aside from picking from five games instead of three and that you want it to run for two weeks.

To get things started again, we're going to do a "best of" selection where you can choose from five prior winners that I've chosen from the list. Post coming within the hour.

Is it possible to vote 2 games, if we have 5 to select from? Just throwing that idea.
