There are quite a few posts and topics here, nothing since 2017 I believe, so I was just wondering if there was now a consensus on what the best script is to use that saves metadata and doesn’t ruin SD cards? I know @meleu had one at one point.

A script that is easy to install, something 5 year old could do, would be ideal for me. Where the reset button just backs out of the emulator into EmulationStation or, if no emulator is running, safety restarts the system.

I’ve had my switch soldered for a couple of years but not touched my build since, so I’m very out of the loop(!).

@robertybob Check out @cyperghost's shutdown script - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17415/ - it supports multiple switches and can be adapted to work like you want w.r.t the reset switch.
