Issue with psx and bios

I know that the emulator does support the 5501 bios, but try with the SCPH1001 bios, is the best one.

Unfortunately only scph5501.bin and scph5502.bin are recognized. Got SCPH1001.BIN as well as scph1001.bin in bios directory. RetroArch is demanding only for 5500, 5501 and 5502 o0 Is there a possibility to switch config that I can use scph1001 (if so, how?)?

@brokenpie did you use Reset Configuration in Retroarch ? This will reset the folder where the emulator will look for the Bios files.

After I activated Settings>Retroarch>Configuration File>Reset to defaults, retroarch is ignoring any input (clock is updated, but I cannot do anything)
But anyway it is a fresh installation. Psx games are running but without bios.
Updated retroarch from source but didn't help as well.

@brokenpie I was not suggesting to reset the settings, but offering an explanation why the bios files are not found. If you're just starting, reflash the Retropie image, copy again the Bios files in the Bios folder an don't use the Reset Configuration menu again.

I already did this in the morning, but I'll do it again while documenting routine here:

With etcher writing image for RaspBerry3+ to sd card
Starting retropie and set up controller
Updating install script, installing retropie to sd card
Updating lr-pcsx-rearmed from source (Previous "game do not start" problem)
Installing retroarch assets and overlays (Don't know exactly why...)
Shutting down; insert sd card into pc; copying games (/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx) and bios files to sd card (/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS)
Starting any random game: "No bios detected..." :(

@brokenpie show a verbose log for the emulator, toggled from the Runcommand launch menu. You also don't need to update any Retroarch assets, they are handled by the Retroarch install/update script.

Did you also update the Retroarch package ? Did you also check that your Bios files are valid (i.e. valid checksums, as shown in the Docs) ?

Check your Retrorach config , there is a folder direction there for the bios files (check to see your the direction go there and change it if needed dont remember where extecley there in the menu but u will find it )

To add on to what you said, do this and
The settings inside retroarch menu.
Settings>> Directory >> System/BIOS > /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS

That is "Directory" the bottom listing and "System/BIOS" the top listing.
Sometimes the default directory systems directory isn't right.

Only if you move it, the RetroPie-Setup script will set it to /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS on install - hence all the docs referencing this folder.
This usually gets unset if you use Reset Configuration from RetroArch.
