So I installed Minecraft Pi Edition to my retropie/raspberry pi. I don't want to use a keyboard and mouse for this version. Is there anyway I can map a PS4 controller to a keyboard and mouse?

      I have:
      Raspberry Pi 3
      RetroPie 4.4

You could try xboxdrv, assuming there is no native PS4 controller access with Minecraft.

I don't think there ever was or will be native support for Minecraft Pi Edition. They stopped making updates to it years ago. :(
