OK, please be gentle as I have read loads of stuff and tried lord knows how many different options but am still getting nowhere...

I am running arcade games using fba in RP on a 21" 16/9 lcd tv, however, I want the games to not fill the screen but run their correct resolutions in the centre.

If I leave the 'options' for video unset then the horizontal games seem to be in a square screen, not the 4:3 ratio that I would expect, and the vertical games are far too narrow, so it looks like I need to 'widen' the output screen.

I have found that if I go into the options and set the screen ratio to 2:1 then the horizontal games are far better, but of course that then sets the vertical games to the same resolution and they fill the same space as the horizontal games.

I am using a 4:3 theme and that gives me the ratio on screen I would expect, it is only when I run a game that it seems to 'narrow' it and go to 1:1, when I come back out of the game the theme is still 4:3.

Any ideas where I am obviously missing something?

I have tried loads of different graphics options within the libretto options, CEA2 etc, but still cant work out where I am going wrong.

      Hope this all makes sense...

Try to keep the resolution settings to the defaults and set the Use Core provided option for the Aspect Ratio. You can also toggle Integer Scaling on to have the game fill the available screen (horizontally or vertically) without changing the original aspect ratio.

@mitu - Not a big deal but shouldn't Core Providedfill the screen on the x or y axis but not necessarily Integer Scaling which would be more of a whole number multiple of the original resolution less than the display resolution or am I reading that wrong?
