edited one config now it doesn't see any roms

Hi all,
I edited mupen64 config to change the buttons on the controller and that is it, after i saved the changes in nano I sudo reboot.
Now its not seeing any of my games on the usb at all,
I've used terminal to ensure the path is still correct and it is, the es config file still points to them but for some reason they are not showing on the front end home screen
I don't really want to start again so any idea how I can resolve this. or if i should even still be using emulation station as it seems to be a pain in the ass and I was thinking about using attract mode instead -

Anything useful in ~/.emulationstation/es_log.txt ?apparently it is trying to load it from /home/pi/RetroPie//roms
the config file is still pointing to the usb drive though

lvl2: Parsing XML file "/home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists/intellivision/gamelist.xml"...but the game gear is saying

Something is not right. check usb rom service is running. Have you installed anything, it would overwrite es system.cfg?
Did you edit Mupen in /configs/n64/? this wouldnt effect anything else... Check your flash drive. I would put all game folders at root of drive. if you put them in roms folder, they could be overwritten or pulled to the sd

@yusuo Its clearly looking on your sd card, not usb. for me n64 would be /media/usb0/n64

You're all right, for some reason it over wrote some of the options in the config file. copying back a backup and it all works again.

One more questiondoes anyone know the hotkeys to get into the core options so i can change controller layout as whenever I edit the mupen config file the changes always resort back even if i make the changes using sudo

@yusuo you can make changes while in game (lr) via F1. The changes will not save unless you have save on exit on.
This alows you to test some configurations without writing it permanent, until you are ready.
