The way Retropie works is that you will have one entry on the menu for a given emulated machine. So it's expected behavior to just show "Macintosh" and then you have to pick whether you want vMac or Basilisk.

Currently, your emulators.cfg is set to default to basilisk. If you want it to default to vMac, you need to change it so that the vMac line is above the default line, then change the default line to read default = "basilisk"

If you want to have separate menu items in Emulationstation for Basilisk vs vMac, you need to edit es_systems.cfg to add a new system. See https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Add-a-New-System-in-EmulationStation

Creating a new system is an interesting route. For fun, I'll try and make one for Mini vMac with the logo and everything, once I get Mini vMac to work properly. Thanks for the link, it looks interesting. Tough, do you have a clue why the mouse cursor in Mini vMac is stuck in the top/left corner and it constantly "jumps" or resets back to that position when I move the physical mouse in Mini vMac?

It's actually easier than adding a new system - the macintosh system supports .txt files as ROM extension. You can have Basilisk.txt and vMac.txt added as empty files in the macintosh folder and choose each of the emulators for the corresponding .txt file.

THIS is what I wanted in the first place. Can you please post just a little more details as to how to proceed with this tough? Logically, I guess I could even just have the 2 boot disk images launch with the corresponding emulator while we're at it? :P

@marc-tremblay I'm not sure what more details I can give - you just create the 2 files and then use the Runcommand launch menu to choose which emulator to start them - for the Basilisk.txt you choose to start it with basilisk and the other way around for Minivmac.txt.

@mitu Of course, by holding down a button upon launch? I have to get used to this launch menu, it seems useful! Thanks!

@marc-tremblay You only need to enter that menu once per .txt file too, it will remember your choice. Use option 2, "Select emulator for ROM," not the first option.

Got it! It works perfectly fine and instead of making empty txt files, I made it so the hard drive disk images themselves boot the appropriate emulator! So now I have it like this: "System 6.0.8.dsk" boots Mini vMac and "System 7.5.3.dsk" boots Basilisk II :) It's tidy and functional now :) I love it! Thanks. This topic can be deleted I guess!

Because it's not an issue with Retropie, it's just that I did not initially understand how to use Retropie :P There is no technical information to fix an issue here, just me, asking a somewhat stupid-ish question that I could have solved by reading the getting started guide more carefully haha! Thank you tough for replying! Now I am becoming a master Retropie'er :P
