which version format my mame roms must be for beeing runned by mame 2015?

I have a big mame romset, but for play each rom I need to try many different mame emulators and for many roms none of the works.
So What I would like t do is to just use the mame 2015 but I know I have to convert my entire romset in some version, can you tell me which version?
