Hey yall! Noob here. just opened my RPI4 B+ 4gb and installed Rasbian. Then installed retropie overtop. My end goal was to have a desktop and media/gaming center, including kodi for the media side. everything installed fine, roms are loaded up. But no Kodi in optional or experimental packages! i tried searching for answers. If anyone could help that be great! also, when will RPI4 be offically supported!?

TL:DR- Fresh install of rasbian then retropie over top with no kodi in optional/experimental packages on RPI4

Retropie does not fully support the new RPI 4 model yet, so I'm not surprised it's not working.
Note that RetroPie uses the upstream packages for Kodi, so we'll have to wait for the Kodi project to also release a PI4 compatible version.

@macraem If you use the fkms_rpi4 branch, you'll be able to install Kodi normally. Since August, when the topic was started, Kodi has a package that works on the Pi4 - but you'll have to use the dev branch.

Hi @mitu . I used the instructions on here, but I get the following error when trying to launch emulationstation. Any ideas?
lvl0: Error creating SDL window! Could not create EGL window surface lvl0: Renderer failed to initialize! lvl0: Window failed to initialize!

@trv893 I noticed this absence after my initial installation of the fkms_rpi4 branch, but it showed up in the package list after I performed an update of the retropie setup script. I installed it, and it appears to work fine.
