        No. They aren't.

You are much better off figuring out which rom set will cover your needs best and sticking with it.

Know that I can compare 2 folders remove duplicates and remove it but why does all these mame have same rom sets

          Use MAME Set Rebuilder:

@jodiefoster Your original post asked why there are so many duplicate roms in different mame versions, and if you could forgo mame 2000.

The answer to that is that mame is an ongoing project to emulate as many arcade systems as possible as good as possible. To achieve this, it also uses the best possible rom dumps. If a better rom dump comes up, they switch to that one in a new mame version. Thus, some roms will change between mame versions and some will not.

Only you can know if some particular roms are worth the the effort and space for multiple mame versions and romsets. Another, much more laborious way would be to single out the roms that you prefer, and only put them into your setup.

Here's a reddit thread that you might find interesting: So... why is MAME2003 the recommended version?

In short, building the "optimal" (set of) romset(s) is a heavily subjective science that you can pursue for a lifetime. 😉

As for the rom paths to your custom folder, you didn't mention that before. Care to elaborate it a bit more?

all these are not good you still end up with dead roms.

Maybe you don't use them correctly. I didn't have these problems with Romcenter or ClrMamePro, I didn't try Romulus.

@jodiefoster clrmamepro works, you are either not using it properly or using the wrong dat file

their is no 100% accurate .dat out there you will find

Those dat files are directly generated by the emulator using its own code, they are 100% accurate by definition.
