Do dreamcast FMVs still lag on the Pi4?
-
i'm testing "evolution the world of sacred device" on pi3 and the opening FMV video lags alot, has anyone tested reicast or redream on retropi on the pi4 and can let me know if this is still an issue?
btw, is there a way to fix the laggy fmv on pi3?
thanks for the help!

I tested on a pi4 at 1950mhz, raspbian lite with the latest retropie script from their pi4 branch. With flycast, fmv is ~60fps with no lag/skips. Gameplay is ~30fps which might not be fullspeed but it's playable.

@Darksavior thank you so very much for testing it out for me and letting me know the results! i am in your debt!

@Darksavior Does performing git clone with the retropie_setup script automatically pull the Pi 4 version files? The master and fkms Pi 4 branch both seem to call the same file so just curious, not super familiar with how github is structured. Does each branch actually live in it's own directory so-to-speak so it's relative?

@KN4THX You have to use this command to specify the correct branch:
git clone --branch fkms_rpi4 --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git
If you're unfamiliar with the process, follow the manual installation guide but use the altered address I posted: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Manual-Installation -
@Darksavior Thank you. I've installed Retropie on my Debian laptop so I should be pretty good with the install process. Thank you for the command, now I'm excited to try my new Pi4 out!

@Darksavior Can you update/upgrade a bit image? Or do you have to re-git/clone to get the newest version in progress?
-
@KN4THX Not sure. I usually re-clone the git.

I have recently noticed that Flycast allows the internal resolution to be increased on Dreamcast games. Has anyone experimented with that on the Pi4
Is there a Flycast core that can emulate WinCE games? If so what is the current experience with that on a Pi4?
