Basilisk II 256 colours with dispmanx
-
Hi there,
I'm using a Pi 3B+ with the latest retropie setup script. I build basilisk II with it in order to use it to make it run in 256 colour mode, but no matter what I try it always gives men's black screen when adding colour depth 8. I learned from another post that I have to enable dispmanx for Basilisk what I did, but still nothing.
Is it possible that it simply ignores that setting?
Is there a way to tell Basilisk to use dispmanx otherwise?

In RetroPie, you use the setup script, go to
Configuration/Tools
and open thedispmanx
settings, from where you can enable it for the emulators that support it (that includesbasilisk
). -
@mitu I'm not seeing any option for
dispmanx
in theConfiguration/Tools
menu. Has that been removed in more recent versions? I'm trying to figure out where to set my BasiliskII settings/configs so that it will open as a scaled (fullscreen) 640x480 (or something else that's less than the 1600x1200 default) so that I can see larger icons and menus. If I set the screen to 640x480 in either the run command options or within the Mac emulation itself, it just uses a portion in the upper left of the screen that's the same scale of icons, etc.
EDIT: For anyone else who's been confused by this, I discovered where to find thedispmanx
settings inConfigurations/Tools
. It's under197 backends
then selectbasilisk
to change it to usedispmanx
if you want to.
