I'm not finding the exact issue on a search so...

If I have an image that is say, 1GB, and I make a couple of small changes to it while on a large 32 or 64 gig card... just little config.txt changes, etc. Then I back that image up to archive it (for me via Etcher on Mac)...

How do I keep the file size down near that original 1GB vs ending up with an image the size of the card?

I'm not sure if I've missed something, but when I've tried in the past it will back up at the full card size. I recall I can zip the image to reduce it... but can you archive an image at the "true" size?

You'll need to use something like pi-shrink to make the image be as large as its contents (vs. the full copy of the card).
