Hardwiring power time the raspberry pi 4
-
I am wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to hardwire power to the pi 4?
My current set up had a micro that is cut and spliced to direct power from a 5v 3A power source...
I’m building a new PiBox and looking to upgrade it to the raspberry pi 4 if it’s worth it when the time comes to add the board...
The current blue prints are for the Pi 3 but I want to make sure it can be upgraded as needed

@Drakaen391 It looks like the pinout is the same. #2 can be 5V in and then use #6 as a ground. Just keep in mind there is no power regulation protection using GPIO directly to a power supply.

@KN4THX yea, but I use that for my cooling

@Drakaen391 Pins #2 and #4 can be used to input power without usb power or run devices with usb power so you have two to choose from. There are even more grounds.
Pins # 1 and #17 are 3V power outputs. I used those instead of the 5V because they would run the fan slightly slower which meant quieter fans as I didn't like the noise.
