Help with lr-vice 1.7.6 - VICE x64 3.3 key mapping...

Merry Christmas ladies and gentlemen,
I have time to tinker with my Raspberry and gave lr-vice a go. I compiled from source. The problem is that there doesn't seem to be options of key mappings like in older releases. I want to map let's say the space bar to the Start button. Is there any way to do it? I've read about an overlay keyboard, but that doesn't seem to work either. Any help would be appreciated.
