So I got the retro pi installed and I get it to run. The issue I am having is trying to get my roms to play from a usb flash drive which I read was possible. I looked up and saw videos saying to make a folder with the right naming (forgot it was right now) in the usb drive and the contents would be copied on over. For me that never happened and when I try to make the emulator run it actually crashes when I got that folder there. I looked in the options and I am not seeing any option to set a direct path to the usb drive. So what else can I do since I don't wanna bog down my small sd card with all my games until I get a bigger one and then it would be still be pointless since I got everything on my flash drives..

Please give more details about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Did you use the guide from https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/#automatic-mount-easiest-method ?

Well I am using the pi4. All the hardware is from the pro kit that was sold by microcenter. The OS is rasbian and fully updated. The emulator is retro pi and i luanch in the command terminal with the word emulationstation. I did use the easieest method to copy the retro pi on over to the usb drive but nothing ever copied that I noticed. My story ends there really, lol. I didn't get much further than that since I can't get the roms from the usb drive to load up.

Correct. Your story ends there. Pi4 is currently unsupported. (It's in the works.)

From https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first (the link I posted earlier):

Make sure you are using an official image, or have done a manual install yourself. We will not support 3rd party images. Do not report issues with running on a RPI4 - it's not yet officially supported, and there are many 3rd party guides with incorrect instructions out there. We can't support installs based on these.

If it's your first time trying out RetroPie, then it's better to wait until an official release is created.

Yeah it is. I got mine a few days ago and went with the pi 4 since it had higher specs even though I was told that a lot of programs aren't supported. But eh.. in time hopefully they will.

Just strange though. For something that is not officially supported it runs fine after the installation. Just can't figure how to direct it to the usb drive to start playing it.
