I noticed on github that retroarch was updated to 1.8.4, but when I goto update, I still have 1.7.9, is this an error or something else?

      Thanks

@mat update retroarch from source - I've not updated the binaries yet.

Could you update this thread when it has? I don't particularly want to wait an hour or more for it to update from source unless Retroarch doesn't like some other packages.

          Thanks

@mat He probably has a lot of other things on his plate. Updating from source didnt take more than a few minutes for me. Why not run it while you eat lunch or something?

I 've never done it with RA so I wasn't sure how long it would take. That is all.

@mat Thankfully the pi 4 is much faster than older pi models. I havent had anything take more than 10 or so minutes when updating from source.

I have a Pi 4, but use a Pi 3 still since I didn't think RP Pi 4 was released yet.

@mat Thats my mistake for making assumptions. Been playing with my pi 4 using the retropie weekly build so I have the pi 4 on the brain.

This is great news @BuZz, I was going to tell you and @mitu that my 1.8.3 testing has been running smoothly!

Not sure if this is related but when I play Mastersystem with GX it isn't running 4:3 full anymore. It is smaller than it normally runs. I tried to save 4:3 to core but it did not work.

Nevermind, I think it works now.

@quicksilver I just got a Pi 4. Any idea when the official Pi 4 release will be ready?

@BGallagherLA Im not a retropie dev so I dont have any insider knowledge to share unfortunately. The most recent WIP build works pretty well but there are still some missing emulators/packages. So the only thing I can say with certainty is that it isnt ready yet.
