I would like to install RetroPi using a shell script without further interaction. I understand that retropie_packages.sh DDD (with DDD a number) can be used to install some packages. It is unclear to me though how to perform the Basic Install and how to select lr-cores using arguments/config files.
      Any help appreiciated.

Take a look at the sources - https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup:

        • basic install can by performed by running sudo ./retropie_packages.sh setup basic_install_setup
        • any scriptmodule can be installed by running sudo ./retropie_package.sh <package_name>.

Thanks a lot for the quick and helpful reply. I can now install the basic packages. Somehow, dependencies were not installed (that is not a big problem, I just wanted to take note). That leaves individual emulators to be installed. Can this be done similarly?

I have one more follow-up question. I am building on OpenSUSE (I will provide my patches later, once everything works). I need to provide the --disable-vulkan flag to the configure script of retroarch. Is this easily achieved or do I need to create patch file for this?

@privatelupo If you're targeting a PC, disabling Vulkan might not be desired. The build options for RetroArch are set in build function of the install script, so it can be patched easily.
