NEED HELP WITH AV SCREEN

hi guys i'm building a raspberry pi gameboy and im using retropi as my system but there is a problem:
i have a 3.5 inch av screen, when im running a ubantu mate system it displayed just fine. But when i swtich to the retropi system，there is nothing on the screen. im sure that screen's powersupply is good. do i have install a drvier for the av screen or i have to set something before plug it -
You'll need to provide more details about the screen you're trying to use - does it connect via HDMI or GPIO ? What make/model is it ?
